To test how the output from rotoCap would interact with a rig I decided to first just have the character follow a ball with their eyes. For now I'm manually parent-constraining the sight-line to the ball.

After the color-tracking drones are created and launched a bounding box is created showing the extreme translations for each drone. The user can then resize the box to limit (clamp) the area the drone can travel in. Also integrated is the filtering system which smooths out motion and eliminates redundant keyframes.

About rotoCap
rotoCap is my thesis project to create a motion and/or surface capture framework within Maya. The name rotoCap is a combination of rotoscoping and capture. rotoCap loads an image sequence and tracks markers based on their color. From the image, the user will be able to use the coordinate data to drive animation rigs or quickly capture the primary form of an object. For more details check out www.ellis3d.com
