  • Nice rifle with an awesome chambering (.45-70) but as Poncho said to Mack in 1987's Predator, "Couldn't you have found something a little bigger," re: the small water bottle? (LOL)

  • It is a beautiful rifle, but I'm not a fan of the XS Sights rail and ghost ring sight. I took those off of mine before shooting it (I didn't want the barrel marked-up by the rail rubbing against it during the barrel vibration) and I am currently looking into some sight alternatives.

  • @SphinctersForever hello, I also had to get used with the XS sights, but with a bit of training they aren't that bad. I never thought that I would like a rail on a lever action rifle, but on the 1895 SBL it looks nice, but this is just my opinion and I didn't see one without a rail yet. thanks for your comment, regards erich

  • @MrEk78 In my case I would prefer a more traditional iron sight set, and since I am not planning on ever clamping any other scope or sighting system to the rail, the rail seems very superfluous to me. I have never really been a fan of Picatinny-style rails anyway, on any firearm. I much prefer the classical purpose-specific mounts for scopes and other devices. But yes, 1895 SBL is a real beauty, generally. I love the .45-70, and your choice here of Hornady Lever-Revolution is superb.

  • @SphinctersForever I totally agree to your comment, normally I would never mount a scope on a lever action rifle, and the plastic rails on such beauty's don't look good. Simple iron sights would be the best for the classic design of a lever action rifle. But on the 1895SBL it was mounted from the factory and I made an exception. I think it is also a bit because of my laziness, because otherwise I also would assemble iron sights. Regards eric

  • @xnickbox The recoil is heavier than on a 12 ga, but on this rifle is a deluxe recoil pad (you can see it in the video) and with that it isn´t hard to handle.

  • How is the recoil on this rifle? would it be closer to a 12 ga?

  • @wp4565775 The song is called "Unbroken" by the band "Emperors Nonsense" you can find it on Myspace

  • Beautiful gun! What is the name of that song?
