  • @Siirenias I had to go pretty out of the way to find mine, so I'd recommend calling around before pounding pavement if you plan on searching for an alternative to cotton.

  • I wanted to point out, just in case someone might try to "make do," that it's pretty important to use a natural fiber to bind your smudge sticks with. Plastics, nylons and other petroleum fibers can give off toxic, unpleasant smoke when burned. Strong embroidery cotton thread is a great substitute if you don't want to go out of your way to find a bead store that sells good hemp cord.

  • @XxNarutoNoobxX There's a large number. Actually, most of the sages you find in dried bundles are from North America.

Okay, the ones I find, anyway. It's usually White Sage, a species that lives in the southwestern USA. Beyond that, you can sometimes find conifer smudge sticks, made from plants like pines, firs and junipers.

I like making mine with Blue, Purple, Black, White and a couple other US native species I could name.

  • @666onfire oh and cute dog and cat btw

  • whist cannip may be in the mint family its more related to marajuana infact some call it cat marajuana or cat weed

  • @prettylilmisfit the cat is bigger than the dog! Lol

  • OMG you are too cute! and your pets too! Adorable and great info...never heard the "vertical thread" technique before, I'll try that next time! Subscribed. Blessed be! )O(

  • Wish someone told me that catnip spreads before I planted it in my garden... it took over... no other plants grew. D:

  • If I wanted to make a smudge stick of just white sage, can I make the bundle bigger and still have it burn evenly? What's the technique for that? Informative vid btw :D
