Remember when any skidder in BC was a "treefarmer" no matter if it was a JD, Timberjack, or whatever?
-
lol did that give you a good feeling? hahaha I remember seeing bulldozers having to push out some of those old scrapers (I guess you'd say...I used to call them earth movers LOL) from soft sand. Gotta love those beasts, especially the really big and slightly older ones! (Type "Cat Scraper and Dozer working" into youtube search to see exactly what I mean).

zoomboom is your word eh? Telehandler...
AgentHog 3 years ago
Industry slang. Kind of like 'sawsall'.
Both of these, and many others, are actually brand names, that became generic through common use. Telehandler is the proper term. Zoomboom is what I usually hear on a job site.
'Carelift Zoomboom'
'Millwaukee Sawzall (spelling?)'
'Skillsaw'
A lot of people even just say 'bobcat' instead of 'skidsteer', for any brand, etc.
And the world just keeps right on turnin', brother!
It's funny how these things get coined, though.

Eh, I must like equipment too much that I need to use specific names. Kind of like when did I get my name changed to hoeman? What part of Austin does no one understand?
AgentHog 3 years ago
hmmm....
'HOE'!
I had forgotten about that one!
So you must be a 'hoester', then!
Or the 'ho'! (I get that one a lot, lol)
