Taken from the 3000 COPYS LIMITED CD -- John Wayne made two contemporary cop movies towards the end of his career: Brannigan (1975), set in England, and McQ (1974), set in Seattle and starring the Duke as a tough detective lieutenant who takes on gangsters and crooked police after his best friend is murdered. / A MUST GEM
"McQ" was the better of the two, this was his answer to "Dirty Harry" in which he was originally offered the lead role, which he declined because he thought was too violent in nature. "Dirty Harry" was a huge hit for Eastwood so Duke had a change of heart and came out with "McQ"(1974). One of the last good films in his illustrious career.

The car chase scene through Seattle that accompanies the longest play of the soundtrack is a good one as well. Google 'John Wayne Seattle Car Chase Tour'...
