Google Navigation On My Rooted G1 (How To)

So this is the same Maps from Android 2.0 that is featured on the Motorola Droid that comes with VOICE turn by turn directions!!!

Pretty awesome that we can get it on our G1's....

1st, your phone MUST be rooted for this to work AND you must be running a Donut ROM and CANNOT be on a Hero ROM.

Install normally =)

That's pretty much it. Installation is as simple as flashing a ROM except you don't have to wipe =)
The only thing you will need to do after flashing the zip file is...
Go into your Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, Maps, Clear Data
Then go into your Market app and install Google Voice (if you already have it, uninstall then reinstall)

BOOM! You know have Google Navigation and doesn't it feel good???

BRO!! Awsum, but i got one problem, i downlopaded the sprint navigation and it was working fine at first, but then i turned it off so that my phone can charge over night, and when i turned it back on it told me that my account has expired and that i need to call sprint or renew my contract, which is just totally lame. Can you help me out here bro?

I actually got the google maps with navigation working. I used the zip you had and i now have google navigation installed on my phone. it took a little work but it will work

funny my G1 isnt rooted nor do I have google voice and my Google nav works perfectly, But google does really need to work on that lady's voice way to fast and robotic.

Yeah, but I was saying all of that is BETTER in Sprint Nav.

I've tried both driving around LA and Sprint Nav performed better. =p
