Diamond and Tionda Bradley's family continues to keep their case in the spotlight by holding prayer vigils every July 6, the day they disappeared 10 years ago, in the area they believe they were last seen.
The sisters went missing from their South Side home in 2001. They were ages 3 and 10 respectively. They would now be 13 and 20 years old.
The Chicago Defender's Kathy Chaney talks with the family (Mary Bradley, grandmother-top left; Shelia Bradley-Smith, great aunt-top right; two sisters and two cousins) about the continued search for the girls, lingering questions about the validity of the alleged note and voice mail left by Tionda the day they vanished and the need for closure.
Tracey Bradley, the girls' mother went to work as usual the morning of July 6, 2001. She returned home a few hours later to an empty apartment on East 35th Street and Lake Park Avenue. An unsuccessful private search was conducted by family and friends before the Chicago Police Department was called that evening.
Searches in the neighborhood, at the Dan Ryan Woods, Washington Park and in more than 5,000 abandoned buildings across the city provided no leads.
Diamond and Tionda's case initially garnered national attention and sparked the largest hunt in Chicago Police Department history. Headline News' channel's "Nancy Grace Show" often features the sisters' case and also did a one-hour special about their disappearance. The case was also featured on America's Most Wanted.

Yes. I remember this case to. Honestly, I think someone knew the mom was NOT there; and they conned those girls into letting them into the home; then made the older girl write that note about going to the store/outside, etc. then they took them. The mom no doubt probably made it CLEAR to the girls that she could get in trouble if someone found out they were being left alone, and to NOT open the door for anyone. Therefore, I believe the abductor was someone they knew.
