Mr. Hofmann is great as always but the woman is too old for him, has no good voice and acts poor. I like better the Met 1986 performance with Eva Marton

Of course Elsa (Karan Armstrong) is far from Peter Hofmann's level (by the way: the difference between Armstrong and Eva Marton are only 2 years), but one have to decide: Ortrud is much much better in the Bayreuth-production, and the choir is much better too. And even though Levine is at least 10 levels higher than Nellson, the orchestra of the Met plays without emotion in this production - therefore I prefer the production from Bayreuth.
