It is not a criminal offense to be undocumented in the USA. To say otherwise is just ignorance.

Being undocumented in the USA is a civil offense, a federal misdemeanor, similar to speeding or running a stop sign does not make you a criminal, being undocumented does not make you a criminal.

The fevered of hatred spewed with ignorance by people who do not comprehend the law as it is written and enforced is why most are confused on the subject.
