  • @Pogokoala The Tern brand was launched not that long ago, I think their bikes will be available soon. You can ask about distributor info on their web forum.

  • @Imprezard I saw it, but I don't think their selling them... shameful enough though. And if they were, to where will it be sold?

  • @Pogokoala Dahon had a split up this summer. Dr.Hon's son now runs a company called Tern Bicycles. The bikes share very similar design as Dahon. Maybe you will see something you like in their line up.

  • @Imprezard OH man don't say that.. I so badly wanted the Speed TR just for the use it has, and less electronic stuff it has. I think it nicely setup for me lol but knowing that if their discontinued will hurt me so badly, because just about all the Dahon I wanted are no longer around, or discontinued or just doesn't sell in the U.S.A. I've been feeling like this company has been screwing me over with the choices..

  • @Pogokoala I think Dahon discontinued Speed TR simply because they got something better to replace it. Check out Dahon Vector. The new 2012 Dahon Visc P18 also looks pretty cool.

  • @Imprezard Oh alright, I think I get it now, sorry for being a douche. But do you think that why they don't sell the Speed TR?

  • @corsair28r Thanks for the suggestion. I have done the seat post shim grease trick and lubed all the contacting surfaces and hinges as suggested by a number of online discussions of the same issue. It didn't help unfortunately. The steering problem happened much later than the frame noise. Anyway the dealer is taking it back.

  • well, that is annoying and not right. You need to know that creaks come from all different places, I would start with the saddle, than put some grease on the inside of the seattube, between the shim and the frame, NOT between the seatpost and the shim. Grease all cams of every quick release.

First of all get your steering fixed, that is wrong to start out with and can very well be the reason for this.

Adjust the hinge to factory recomendations, Best bring it to a dealer who can fix this

  • @Pogokoala I think 140lb is well within specification. I don't know whether the gap matters or not, but it seems that the weight is distributed through upper half of the frame latch only . This video was created for Dahon because they asked to describe the issues.

I have a 3 year old Dahon that costed less than half of Mu P8 and has been trouble free, so I became a fan. I am sure this particular bike is one of the few that slipped through QC. Anyway it has now been declared unsafe and defective.

  • alright I want my 2:46 of my life back. I really thought this was going to be "real Issues!" not this. the annoying sound I could agree but you know what, your probably a heavy guy maybe if not, it just doesn't matter. The gap OHH MY GOD! BIG DEAL!!! it how the model is! I've been dying to get a bike from Dahon but what I'm seeing here is a guy nip picking for no actual issue reasons!
