The Hohokam . Between 10,000 and 25,000 years ago the first people arrived in Arizona . About 2,000 years ago , the Hohokam began an irrigation and agricultural economy along the banks of Tonto Creek , the Salt , Gila ,San Perdo , Agua Fria , Verde , and Santa Cruz River . Maize (corn) , beans , squash , and cotton were cultivated . They gathered mesquite beans and roasted agave . Deer , javelina , rabbits , bighorn sheep , rodents , repetiles , fish , and birds were also eaten .The Hohokam produced elaborate craftwork , developed far-reaching trade contacts , and built ballcourts . They pecked petroglyphs into the rocks . Sometime in the 1400's the Hohokam "vanished" . Urban development , agricultural leveling , and people have destroyed much of what Hohokam left .Important information can still be gained from the remaining material culture and petroglyphs .Please leave it as you find it . http://www.pueblogrande.org/

  • The direct descendants of the Hohokam actually pronunced and spelled "Huhugam" are the Akimel O'otham (Pima) people of the Gila River Indian Reservation,The O'otham of the Salt River Indian Reservation,The Tohono O'odham people (Papago) of the Tohono O'odham Indian Reservation, The Hopi and basically all the south west tribes.

  • Why is this stupid troll touching the rocks?

  • The more I watch the more she is pissing me off, stop touching the petroglyphs already you fucking ditz.

  • @irepelay A well educated person would not touch these fragile pieces of human history. She should probably learn a little more before visiting these places.

  • Omg she touched the rock she should not touch it

  • The big glyph on the left reminds me of a javelina.

  • She is a well educated women. Great work!

  • She is TOUCHING the petroglyphs!!! Why is she TOUCHING the petroglyphs???

  • Tlazocamati ica cena cualli,Naui! I always pronounced it hoh-HOH-kahm, but it's been so long since I stared pronouncing it, I don't remember how authoritative a source I got that pronunciation from. How long was it from the earliest scene we see in these 5 vids to the last scene we see. I ask because those chem-trails became spread-out & crooked a lot during that time, & a lot of people still don't know anything about that spraying up there.
