@BlueCougar Well aren't you superior? Looks like pretentious, vacuous shit to me. But hey, there's no accounting for "taste," is there?
-
@amaxamon Yes, this production is for an audience with imagination and a mind of their own. How disgusting indeed. And they probably are all Democrat voters, too.

@topperheartramada, in some opera houses, there are supertitles above the stage or even little screens on the back of seats that display the librettos. But yeah, without subtitles/supertitles, it can be difficult to follow Wagner since there is more verbage than stage action.

@angryjalapeno yeah, but what if there aren't any? or if you're at the opera and they give you this short description of what is happening and you desperately try to identify the characters and try and see some connection with wthat's happening on the stage and what the story is supposed to be. i find myself too puzzled to even concentrate on the music.

The tempo is a bit slow. And I'm not liking Brunnhilde's big vibrato and muffled sound.
-
@topperheartramada, read the lyrics or watch a dvd with subtitles.

I like the music but I can never figure out what the hell they are actually saying or what they are doing.

Hideous. Awful. Garbage. Stage design to no purpose. Utter dreck. Give me horned helms and spears any day over this tripe.
I hop it will be out on dvd. I always wanted to see a "space" Ring.

I saw this production and can say, without a doubt, that the audience ADORED it. The applause were thunderous like I've never heard before. Frighteningly beautiful.
