After getting 5 emails + about getting a close-up of my lips, I finally put something where everyone can see my setup when i start on pedal C and GLISS up to DOUBLE C. No matter what you cut it, it takes plenty of hard work...always remember that it takes at LEAST 5000 HOURS of practice to attain a pro level status as a pro trumpet player......at that will be the lowest rung of the ladder in the pro arena..so keep practicing!

  • nice vid.

for THE guaranteed way to play high trumpet visit my page.

  • amen brother! love it!

  • fake!!!

  • yes, this was fake...i before Maynard's passing, he came to my home and played behind me while I faked it....i was suprised somebody found us out.

    .....sorry Maynard, but oh well!

  • what size mouth piece do you use?

  • I use a neill sanders 17s. I am looking to buy a spare and have heard that Kanstul can make them....it is a strange, wide, yet shallow mp.

  • These comments are funny. Different mouthpieces help get different tone, not higher range. If you can get a high g on a high-compression mouthpiece (or what some of the narrow-minded mentalities call "cheaters"), you can get it on a Bach 1X, except it sounds much different. There's different faces, hence the variety of mouthpiece sizes and shapes. It's all about what feels comfortable and the sound you're going for, not what your jaded HS band director who couldn't play out of the staff thinks.

  • @diaznutz different mouthpieces make higher/lower ranges more easily accesable, as in its easier to buzz your lips using certain ones. No they cant pitchbend or autotune but it makes those notes easier to play.

  • the high notes where ok but the low notes sounded like a fart.

  • Jeezus! Lol.. ATM I can hit high C but evry time I go over it I get sharp.. 10th grader :)

  • @diaznuts you are so wrong. Look at monette mouthpieces. Different mouthpiece weights are made for facilitating an easier upper register. Look up monette mouthpiece weight on YouTube and the video will show you.

  • @Josh2658 Sorry dude, I hate to break the news but your bitter hs band director or classical trumpet teacher who can barely play above a high C that told you that is wrong. If you meant that that they make mouthpieces that help you get high notes for 10 minutes a day because your lips will thin out when you jam it into the back of your throat, and then you can't make a sound after a week of doing that everyday, then yeah, you're right... lol

  • wow faking is a terrible thing 1

  • Ahhh!!!

  • @diaznutz no dude there are mouthpieces specifically made to play higher

  • Awesome. Beautiful embouchure.

  • it wasn't fake, he was just using a enhanced mouthpiece,"cheating mouthpiece", look at the mouthpiece bore, somewhat like a French horn not a trumpet.
