The 1,500-kilometer journey from Istanbul to Kars near the Armenian border takes almost two days. It's certainly a tale of two very different cities. Kars is located within a landscape of raw beauty, an area where poverty is rife. The trains are obsolete and often face obstacles in the shape of stray animals and falling rocks. The better-off can take the faster bus option or a plane - but for some the train trip is an unbeatable bargain at at 25 euros.

  • Same as the inorganic Growth story in India, a lot of people are unable to make a living in villages and small towns so they head to already overcrowded cities, That's because of the people who are in power are inefficient to make good use of the natural resources of the country, They are narrow-minded and short sighted ,allow no funds or development for places except the big cities

  • my hometown is ığdır which was a county of kars until 1992.There is a train station in kars but ığdır has no station,so we have to use busses.I wish a railway is built to ığdır.
