Jason Frederick Kidd (born March 23, 1973) is an American professional basketball player in the NBA. After earlier stints with the Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns, he is currently the New Jersey Nets' starting point guard and captain.

He led the Nets to two consecutive NBA Finals appearances (2002 and 2003) and is considered to be one of the best players of his generation, one of the greatest playmakers in NBA history and also one of the greatest point guards in NBA history. His on-court versatility also makes him a regular triple-double threat, and he is in third place all-time for regular season triple-doubles in the NBA with a career total of 98 (as of January 25, 2008) and second in playoffs triple-doubles with a career total of 11 (as of May 12, 2007).

Kidd was selected as the second pick overall by the Dallas Mavericks, behind Glenn Robinson of Purdue, and just ahead of Duke's versatile swingman Grant Hill. In his first year he averaged 11.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 7.7 assists, sharing 1995 NBA Rookie of the Year honors with Grant Hill of the Detroit Pistons.

On April 7, 2007, Kidd and teammate Vince Carter became the first teammates to record triple-doubles in the same game since Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen did it in 1989 for the Chicago Bulls. Kidd finished with 10 points, 16 rebounds, and 18 assists. In the 2007-08 NBA season, Kidd became the third player to get a triple-double in three straight games since 1989. He did so after he logged his 97th career triple-double in a 99-115 loss to the Charlotte Bobcats. On February 18, 2006 as a reference to the NBA's 60th anniversary, TNT aired the "Next 10", a program consisting of the network's sixteen NBA analysts that selected 10 players who, in their minds, merit inclusion into the NBA's 50 all-time greatest players list. Kidd was chosen at #9.

  • couldn't shoot in his early years but he didn't need to. Look at him now 2cnd or 3rd in all time 3pt FG's made. % wise ? Big shot time is what matters

  • My biggest idol of all basketball players! Every PG want to get this "vision" like him!

Somebody tell what is the title of the music in the video pls! :)

  • Hahahaha the beginning is fucking hilarious, fucking genius

ive been watching kidd highlights all day and dam i hav a new respect for him

  • VeoShock I am only in the vicinity of 5'8 and I dunk nonstop. Now i'm part of college's varsity team and my elegant dunking intrigues nearly everyone (like the girls lol). It absolutely was seriously really simple, I only just put into use the specialized workout program at "50inchvertical (dot) com" - it's easy!

    Jason Kidd - Court Vision

  • @lookitsckaz He's hit the 3rd most threes all time. Sure he didn't come in to the league as a shooter, but he made himself into one.

  • if only Kidd knew how to shoot. still an amazing player, but holy crap those shooting numbers are bad.

  • at 2:28 i did not even see how he pass the ball.

  • @Dyncommon thing about Steve Nash is that he is a sissy near the hoop. If there is some defense around under the hoop, Nash brings the ball out, & runs away. Nash is a much better shooter, but guy doesn't have much courage. His defense stinks, Jason Kidd is the best defensive PG in NBA history, and a good rebounder at PG position. He was pretty fast for his size, just as quick as smaller Isiah Thomas at 6 foot, 185 pounds. Jason Kidd is a winner. Nash I doubt he will ever win anything.

  • vote up if you cant follow the ball all the time

  • I'm glad Kidd arrived after Stockton. Brings us joy watching basketball. And I really hope there shall be someone like that in the near future.
