@13Metal13Head13 No idea what your point is.
Is it difficult to beat more than one opponent? Yes. Obviously. For any style.
Is BJJ great for 1vs1? Yes. Awesome.
Is BJJ great if you have more? Yes. Awesome.
If other people take you down, do you need Grappling to even have a chance? Yes.
Anyway you slice it, you should know BJJ.

What in wing chun is illegal in MMA competition? Biu Jee & strikes to the groin are all that I can think of; am I forgetting something? Isn't the same true of almost any traditional martial art being used in MMA? Lyoto Machida, for instance, shouldn't be able to do well because he can't use his nukite to the eyes or a mae geri to the groin. I think a more likely reason most wing chun practioners won't do well in MMA is because they don't train wth a similar level of contact & intensity.

1 question breaking limps is allowed in mma isnt it?
-
How does chi sau work on the ground?
-
It sucks on the ground then?
-
Not sure why everyone keeps saying that there is no ground game in wing chun, granted it falls under a sub category like chi gerk, meaning that it was practiced but not tought as fundamental wing chun practicum but i can assure you the ground game is as equally efficient as standing wing chun ;)

BJJ wasn't designed for a cage, MMA is unique in that it uses arts adapted to be used against an equally skilled and willingly resistant opponent. That's what makes it so awesome. Anything that didn't work got ignored.
Anything will work on a noob, if it will work in the ring it will definitely work on the street.
MMA broke my TMA heart, but I got over it and moved on.

@MrYattix wing was never designed for cage or tournament fight mainly because of how u use its for self deffence only and because of that fact if use it in cage u cant use "the lethal techniques" its for street fight not cage, which has rules for it, but as far as real world application it does work and quite well at that but it also depend on the users skill

@rootiest I'm just being informative. The reason why kung fu isn't taught to the military is that it's impossible to become proficient at it in a short amount of time. However becoming proficient at boxing, judo, or bjj is much easier. I'm a kung fu instructor in the Northern Praying Mantis system, but I'm not a master by any stretch of the imagination. Btw My teacher's teacher was in Marine Force Recon during Vietnam and he's been doing kung fu for 50 plus years now.

No style can beat CRAZY.
-
No style is better than the other... there is good wing chun, and crap wing chun. There is good and bad of any style, it depends entirely on the practitioner, their training and dedication. A guy who does 20 hours of gymnastics a week would beat a guy who did an hour of karate a week. Practitioner before style always imo.
if wing chun, as u say, is not a sport, rather more lethal techniques, why are any of those techniques thought in military close combat trainings? now don't tell me that the military guys don't know much about real fighting and killing so thats why they teach boxing, judo, bjj in military schools instead of wing chun. PLEASE ANSWER!

@rootiest You're coming from a point of complete ignorance. WT/WC is taught to special forces and the military in places like Hungary, Poland, the Ukraine and elsewhere. A simple Google would have told you that.

Why many people use the word "Wing Chun practitioner"? In others MA, no one says "Muay Thai practitioner", "BJJ practitioner" or "Boxing practitioner, why? What's the different to Muay Thai fighter? Is it possible to say Wing Chun fighter?

@sahapoom1975 You can call us whatever you like! I think it reflects the fact that (especially the further back you go) WC wasn't just a fighting art, it was interwoven with health and spiritual benefits. Nowadays, modern people are too busy to learn every aspect, and the number of sifus who can teach the non-martial aspects are dwindling.

to many people dont understand a very simple fact, when your fight someone no matter what style the practice you are NOT fighting the style you are fighting the person. If a fighter understands there art and know how to break it down and understand it then conpaired to someone who dose there training halfassed, what i am trying to say is that almost every style for the most part is very usefull but it is only as good as the person using it
