  • That untalented idiot, as you call him, was Kurt Von Hess, my father, dead at 56 from heart failure. 15 title career, Pro Wres

tling Hall Of Fame inductee and father. You should be ashamed of yourself!! Know your facts before typing and have respect for deceased old school wrestlers.

  • just a pure simple great wrestling match. id rather watch this than any hhh or john cena match

  • Ric Flair was the NWA World's Heavyweight Champion on August 9, 1984.

  • @Paigevonhess

I don't know you but was on a tour to Doha, Qtar that von Hess was on. The wild Somoans, Rocky Johnson, David Schultz, Johnny Rodz, Toru Tanaka, Juels Strongbow, and many more. I wrestled von Hess and will guarantee you he was no man's fool. He had a gift very few in the business today can claim. We went to a 45 minute draw in a soccer stadium, at night in 102 degree heat. We were up and down the entire time and I can honestly say it was a pleasure wrestling a man with his skill.

  • Excellent ring psychology and pacing in this match. Every move had a purpose. Also, how about that legendary, passionate old NWA crowd? How awesome would wrestling be today if we could deduct 27 years from Flair's age?!?

  • classic...i remember seeing this on tv back in the day...

  • Not a problem. I may not have been old enough to see your father wrestle but thanks to youtube, I can see legends like him. The younger guys would do well to watch matches like this.

  • Thank you so much for your kind words. It is nice to know that people like yourself actually get that my father, along with all of the other wrestling legends who have passed away and are still here and are forgotten. All the blood, sweat and tears are real. They put their heart and sould into this business. God Bless You

  • My condolences to your father Paige, he was such a great influence and this match is a classic. Some of these newer superstars (Ahem Miz, Morrison, Rhodes Jr) need to watch this and take notes

  • i do apologize..i didn't realize it was he until i looked at this again. any relation to karl von hess?

  • i guess he was before your time. he was a jobber for the wwe(f)in the 70s and 80s

  • Thanks, at least someone has done their homework. God bless the wrestling legends who paved the way - dead or alive!!
