Russian Winnie-the-Pooh (episode 2 of 3) with new translation: A. Milne's original text was used where it was a close match.

This is one of the best examples of Soviet animation, loved by children and adults alike. Only three episodes out of planned nine were completed, and you can watch them all here.

Switch your YouTube player to HQ mode and enable Closed Captions (CC) to see English subtitles.

Below is "Winnie-Poohetry" for this episode:

V. Winnie-Pooh Goes Visiting [New]

The one who visits friends at dawn,
Is wiser than the rest!
It's known so well, taram-param,
Such timing is the best!

The boring evening time has come
Our hosts are yawning loudly,
But when the morning guest arrives,
They serve up breakfast gladly!

When morning guest decides to stay
(He's not in any hurry),
Hosts shout: Hooray! You've made their day!
They're glad and very happy.

It's not for nothing that the sun
Goes visiting at morning time,
Taram-param, param-taram,
Always go visiting at dawn!

VI. Pooh Vows not to get to a Tight Place again [Modified original verses]

Winnie-Pooh lives quite a good life in this land,
That is why he sings these ditties all aloud!
What he's doing doesn't matter,
If he don't get any fatter,
And he won't get any fatter
Never, no chance! Yes!

  • Haha, is Rabbit Asian?

  • @onemidnightgone: I don't think Rabbit's ethnicity was mentioned; what we know is he is very smart and comes from a good family, so he might be Asian after all ;)
