Second week of our Greg Everett cycle with OPT. Set two new PR's but I'm very unhappy with the sloppy 120kg C&J. Big weakness for me! I'd love to hear your comments including any lifting drills that I need the most.
Update: as of Feb 2012
C&J is up to 285#
Snatch is 231#
Power Clean is 300#
Squat: 400#
Deadlift: 500#
Bench Press: 300#
Progress, Ouuuuu!
C&J: 80/90/110/120x/120kg (264#) - PR
Clean: 120/125/130kg (286#) - PR
Well,I like ya.One tough feller,I will say dont fight the dip, hit bottom fast it wont hurt and it will conserve energy..Go Get em.

Good on you mate! I like to push myself too and I am just starting on a clean and jerk journey after doing nearly two years of work on squats, dead lifts and power cleans to get the body ready. You have inspired me to train harder tonight.

Your obviously strong but your technique is tight and weak.
The chinese say the classic movements should be like water moving thru small cracks.
You break up between your 1st and 2nd pull in the clean.
You need to control the first pull and rework your technique to start the 2nd pull just about the knee.
...just saying

hey you have the same jerk issue as me, apparently your feet should be parallel, but your feet are pointing out so you are not catching the bar optimally

you just wasted your time bro. The move should be one fluid motion..throw the weight around doesnt mean squat.
