Day with a Special education school kids

The Special Education Centre of Vieux-Fort had much to gain from a session held by the IAU COM last Saturday where they were enlightened on a number of health issues and presented with a check of USD $350.00.

Upon receiving the check, principal of the Special Education Centre thanked IAU for its generosity, noting that the money will be well spent. She described IAU as "a special friend' of the school. "The money will assist us in providing meals for the students," she said.

The session which created quite a family atmosphere also included fun activities for the students of the Special Education Centre and a health clinic where members of the public had their blood pressure and glucose level tested.

For many years now the Centre has been benefitting from the generosity of IAU. This has created a bond between the two institutions.

Some of the topics covered during the session were Diet and Exercise, Hypotension, Nutrition and the Prevention and Management of Chronic Disease. They were dealt with students of IAU whose presentation on the topic generated much interest.
