  • If there are 12 rows and 4 multiple occurring column then the total number of generated key will be 12*4=48. Means total number of records return will be the GK max value. Or 4 multiple occurring columns the GCID will be (1, 2, 3, 4) for 12 times.

  • The Normalizer transformation has a generated column ID (GCID) port for each multiple-occurring column. The generated column ID is an index for the instance of the multiple-occurring data. The Normalizer transformation has at least one generated key (GK) port. The Integration Service increments the generated key sequence number each time it processes a source row.

  • Yes correct ! If you have previous knowledge on this matter you c'd call this/relate as Pivot transformation. As in many places this normalization/denorm are also know as pivot/depivot .

  • Manish, this is a great video. However, Normalizer transformation should be called as Pivot transformation.
