Make sure that you wash and scrub off the small spines on the outside of the fruit. Cut off both ends of the fruit and discard. Carefully peel off the outside layer of the fruits skin. Put the peeled prickly pear fruit into a food processor.

  • I use gloves to make it easier

  • It's not necessary to peel of the last part with a knife because you take out it's flesh while it has a natural structure is made so easy to just roll the skin of by hand. Prickles doesn't stay if you clean the fruit with leafs before cutting. we (North Africa) use vig leafs but you can use other leafs to, they just need to be strong and big...

  • thats how you do? I've just cut off top and bottom and slit it in the middle and pull the peel off
