2005 annual log show competition in Washington State.
240+ lb. monster chainsaws; two large men hold the saws.
One purpose for this is to bring awareness to this line of work. The money raised goes to a fund to help families that are affected by work-related injuries/deaths.
There is also a museum here with all types of logging equipment and vehicles, BBQs, and playground/camping ground.

  • What size saw chain do the car engine chain saw guys use? I thought the biggest was .404, but those engines would shred .404 chain.

  • @tlfrantz1 Gosh, I wish I remembered! It was a while ago, sorry.

  • born and raised in WAshington st and by the way i have been in the tree buz for 37 years* plus- Awareness the forestry planting trees is like dropping a pea in a hail storm. no 800 years old trees are going going gone,,,WE our children will never see anything like it again- its too late and was a onetime shot for modern day humans. face the facts and move on,,like the earth that is coming,, this one needs to heal with out any help from US*

  • @Cloudy011 One of my own old sayings is: Trees are a renewable resource, but ancient forests are not. They are ancient for a reason. =)

  • at this rate,,,how many big trees will be left. I just got back to washington st and the big trees are all being wiped out from storms or ppl a scared of trees falling. 70% of record trees are gone in less than 10 years. Trees are dying - enviromentally from sky chems and drough to flooding and massive wind and ice storms, so these compittions are just dust in the wind--

  • @Cloudy011 I agree. Everything is eventually dust in the wind. Even environments. California was a tropical rain forest at one point in time and New Mexico was under the sea at one point. Change is unstoppable in this Universe. Humans will be dust in the wind, also, and any damage we caused to the environments. New species will develop--far different from anything we can imagine today--and rule the Earth.

But in the meantime, us humans are making the modern day planet sick.

  • From the cradle to the casket and EVERY day in between we are ALL dependent on wood products on a daily basis. The use of wood products is NOT optional to the human state. We are all together on "SPACESHIP EARTH" , so We do not want to sabotage the "SHIP". LET IT RIP!!! Steve Cross Cross Sawmill and Lumber Company 229-774-2781

  • Hell that dude at the end can talk fast haha

  • @rbishop "Everything is eventually dust in the wind. Even environments. California was a tropical rain forest at one point in time and New Mexico was under the sea at one point. Change is unstoppable in this Universe" True but also not true inthis case! Theres a difference between a natural change and a change forced by men to use them for furniture or some medieval like contests between "real" men

  • Almost looks like Deming Log Show. Been there several times. Lots of fun!

  • thumbs up if you think this is a redneck competition
