Springfield 1911 in .45 ACP compared to an IMI Desert Eagle in .44 Magnum.

The magazine in the latter was finnicky, and did not lock the slide back. That's why I asked how many were loaded!

  • I think there's a reason why police/military/para-military forces still use the 1911 after 100 years.

If the DE is so good, why does no one use it?

  • @gaddeiljr

I agree completely. The Desert Eagle is simply too big to be an effective sidearm. The .44 Magnum gives tremendous recoil compared to .45 ACP (which still has a lot of energy behind it -- it's a decent-sized bullet, after all!). Given my druthers, I'd take Brownings 1911 any day

  • Nice video and Good shooting.

Try bending your knees slightly while leaning forward.

    Keep it up!

  • You should practice with dummy rounds cause it looks like you have a drop at the end of your trigger pulls they really help keep your aim points solid with practuc. Nice guns bro

  • @AvidGamer749 I'd read that the gas system makes .44 Desert Eagle recoil comparable to that of a standard .45 acp, but there does seem to be a distinction in the video.

  • The 1911 is not a more accurate firearm mechanically. The Desert Eagle has a fixed barrel that does not move when firing. It also has a scope mount milled on top of the barrel, and the .44 mag will generally get better accuracy just due to its greater speed. Perhaps the 1911 trigger contributes to better practical accuracy, but its mechanical accuracy is limited by the recoil action mechanism.

  • 1911 will always win!

  • Even Duke Nukem uses a 1911 in Duke Nukem Forever. He was originally supposed to have a golden Desert Eagle, but the developers wisened up and gave him a gold 1911 instead :)

  • 1911 no doubt. Better sights, more accurate, hell of a lot less recoil, and there is just something in "model 1911" that says, "I mean business"

  • 1911, more accurate better sights

  • 1911 FTW its the best pistol ever
