While waiting for a Queens-bound J Train at Broad Street, a test train of new Alstom Onix R160's comes in and does a station stop, but with the doors opening on the non platform side, which is standard procedure. The head car is 8576 and the rear car is 8565. This video was taken literally 15 minutes after the test train was seen at Canal Street, headed for Broad Street. If you have any questions about the video, feel free to message me. Comments are welcome. The video was taken at 10:34PM on July 11th, 2008.

  • de test trein doet deuren naar spoor open in plaats voor naar barrons om voorkomen dat mensen meegaan

  • Verbeter. De trein opent aan de niet platformkant zodat de mensen niet kunnen inschepen.

  • narf? routine test train operation as stated - opposite side opening.

  • I know. Thats what I said to the other person, except I said it in Dutch.

  • Does the MTA test every single new train that come in after delivery? Do they also test them after they come out of maintenance or after being repaired?

  • i like the sound the R142s and 160s make as they accelerate

  • you know what? thats pretty funny. im not sure which door will open on double- sided platforms. ive seen mta r160 test trains before but not on double-sided platforms.

  • somebody can just run over there in jump inside from other platform

  • i still cant believe its the same train from the other Alstom J train testing in Canal. Which way was the J train went at the first one, then the second one?(stupid question isn't it)

  • Wow great looking trains
