KdF was also something for the workingclass.
Cheap cars,trips,entertainment.These days the workingclass paying bigtime for those things.People who work should be rewarded.

@Edith4Eva: This was the calculation. Everxbody believed it was going to be a holiday camp. But it was just ohne lie more. The elevators were planned that two hospital beds could be transported in it!

Interesting to hear, that Hitler planned to use prora as a hospital for 20.000 injured soldiers in the coming war. So, war was planned when Prora was planned!

NVA and Communist regime are not better than Nazi, the only difference is that the nazis killed millions of people, lost the war and are hunted down one for one up today, the commuist killed even more, but are still living in wealth. None went to jail for crimes against humanity.
Sad and wrong teaching to the world: the teaching should be that war criminals are chased down ALWAYS, not only if they loose a war, but also if acting under a red star (or now other flags ... ) :(
