A beautiful collection of video from Cocos Island, Costa Rica shot by videographer Tobias Meinken. Footage of hundreds of hammerhead, tiger, silvertip, silky, rays, and galapagos sharks. Unfortunately these sharks are becoming victims of the shark fin industry and are being finned primarily for shark-fin soup. • Sharks are revered as fierce. But actually, they're very fragile. We better take care of them while we still have the chance. Once they're gone, so are we..........

  • I like this video because the sharks are beautiful. I dislike all the shots of them stuck in fishing line and being caught...so sad =(

  • That is really cool that you got up close to a tiger shark. It would be nice to cut the lines off of the sharks that were tangled, and remove the lines with the hooks resting on the coral. It is amazing what some countries will do for shark fin soup. We should boycott those countries. I heard that harming wildlife is now a crime against nature in some south american country. Hopefully this trend will continue throughout the world.

  • Why do people hunt sharks? They did nothing to you! And if you say its because they eat people or bite them, just remember what part of the world ur in they own the ocean!!

  • Great video! Heading there at the end of next month, can't wait! It was heart breaking to see the Hammer Heads caught in the long line's. Thanks for sharing and bringing awareness to this major problem of killing sharks.

  • This post is a message to those that bash the fishermen when discussing the shark finning issue. These fishermen are almost always individuals from poor coastal communities. If the possibility of making a significant amount of money from harvesting shark fins exist, can we expect them to act differently? The real culprits that must be properly tackled are those that allow for this possibility to exist , namely the Chinese and Taiwanese markets that drive the worldwide demand for shark fins

  • The sharks are such incredible creatures! Why do humans kill them? I dont understand...
