I loved The Messenger. Just sayin'. I watched it because Woody was there, and I love him (Defendor? Yeah!) - but it was actually really good, on a few levels.

Brothers wasn't worth the time to watch for mocking purposes. That's why -you- exist. To do that for me. I also never saw precious. Because I let -you- slog through that -crap- for me. And you -did.- Keep at it.

I would respectfully say that your off base to the point of lunacy. The first thing, you continually refer to Maguire as Army, he plays a Marine. This would account for him only expressing "2 emotions". He is either completely calm and distant, or irate. This is a perfect portrayal of a Marine who has returned from combat and is feeling betrayed. Also to speak on Portman’s character, feeling sad when first finding out and then feeling emotionless as something tragic sets in is very normal.

The movie is basically Pearl Habour with the war being on Iraq. We saw the usual patriotic scences that always pop up in an American movie. Ben Affleck is Toby with going to war and then apparently dying. Kate Beckinsale is Natalie, the broken hearted girl. Josh Hartnett is Jake, Sleeps with Kate even though is like brothers with Ben. Its the same thing but a different war

Really? The patriotic rhetoric (likes of which makes my want to puke - since these poor stupid sons of bitches actually allowed their asses to go there and expect sympathy when they're blown to bits) is but a back drop. It makes me LAUGH, that ANYONE might find political meaning in a movie like this. Tobey's docile then went nuts cause of those sick fucks he antagonized, Natalie's cute in mourning, Jake's got no neck...Nat kisses J....Hahaha, Critiquing this is like giving your fish a bath.
