so how do you kickstart?

Pretty simple, I'll put it in a related video, sorry, this one didn't call for one.

Basically you turn to the left or right, then do a sidestep while turning back to face forward, that'll kickstart you.

thanks with your help I was able to get this (twice actually, apparently if you d/c from the server it doesnt save them? ...I dont know why they cant just save it on the hdd then transfer like trophies)

I'm still not sure how people kick start sprints by jumping, it only slows me down

I actually just learned the kickstart move and I'll show you in the next video, when I finally get it done.

thanks alot I'm gonna attempt this now; but tell me, do you go faster jumping along instead of running?

If you watch the speedometer in the bottom right you'll see when I jump I got a bit faster, if I'm running at 24 km/h and I were to jump the duration of the jump would be 29 km/h.
