Hi. I'm Tatsuya Koyama, Japanese indie game developer. This is a introduction movie of my work GENETOS.

This game GENETOS is a vertical shooter with a "evolution" theme. In GENETOS, the stages mean different generations in the evolution of shmups.

The 1st level, you start out with a Space Invaders-like game.
In the 2nd level, you move into late-eighties-style world.
The 3rd level is more standard. You get bombs and more firepower.
And the 4th level, you can go to the bullet hell.

This is a beautiful homage to all that is awesome about the shoot-'em-up genre. The visual design and music are fantastic and the heart -- the gameplay -- is right where it should be. Lots of replayability (I've logged 10+ hours so far and beaten every difficulty) and.... gosh, I really do love the music; I've found myself leaving "Sound Test" on while I do other things. :) Thank you very, very much.

Generation 5 looks awesome. i'm digging the prism-like construct in the city and also the music played during it's encounter (it creates a mystical/epic feeling).

The game is excellent... but I have one complaint: the game give you far too many ressources to clear the game.

15 lives + bombs regenerate far too quickly. Even on harder difficulties, the game remain really easy because the game give you so many lives and so many bombs that there is just no way you can lose.

This is a shame because the evolution system (both for the stage and the player abilities) is really interesting and the enemy patterns are neat too.
