you know who ever Thorpe is im pretty sure this isnt him cause his posture and arm strokes are wrong that Thorpe must be good so i think his posture and arm strokes are better than this guy

@antcowan you're right, and check this out - someone actually spent time doing the fluid mechanics...

@antcowan I guess it cuts down resistance when you are stretching forward with your arm? But in the pull stage wouldn't you want to get those fingers together?

@scrumpymanjack seems unlogical to me too, try holding your hand out the window of a moving car and find out what has the best effect.

@antcowan Thanks for the reply but I don't really understand. It may catch more water than it lets through but it doesn't catch as much water as a hand with closed fingers, does it? I guess it must do because I've seen tons of swimmers with open fingers but I don't understand the physics.

I modeled my freestyle after Ian. His style is so smooth. SO yeah IAN YOUR FREESTYLE LEGACY is living through me I guess. And I'll pass it down to my kids, and yeah.
