  • In case you read these replies, have you listened to Ross Poples,a celebratedNZcellist, who is sadly now better known for his conducting.I still consider him to be without equal on cello, even consideringLynnFarrel, in that he,like you on bass, was able to get the same kind of resonance and acoustic/mechanical efficiency out of a cello that the top violinists and violas normally only enjoy and I modelled my tenor sax tone on him, except that I do not like mechanical vibrato being an ex choir boy.

  • This is just as good if not in fact to be preferred to the cello, so congratulations for seeing beyond mere convention and thankyou for sharing your gift and superior concept on the matter on my favourite composer. You are getting as much resonance as Rostopovich in spite of it becoming more difficult on the larger instruments, so you get a bonus when you overcome natural handicaps. I am doing the same on BWV1052 (3rd mov) on my prototype (Baroque tenor saxophone) which I belive Bach would love.

  • beautiful as always
