@evileva787 I see where you are coming from but as a musical director I probably would have told this student the exact same thing. You are young, the last thing you want is to ruin your voice because you pushed it so much to always get that 'belt' sound. Sometimes I actually find mix belt gives a nicer tone for me and well it puts a hell of a lot less strain on a singers voice.... nothing wrong with challenging yourself - but it's a performance that (I assume) people paid money for.

@POTOskaterJMchic Yeah... I'm sure that the sound quality is not helping at all, but I do agree with the fact that especially as the song progress her voice starts to sound more tired... I think it's a shame that the approach to this song seems to come from a point of view that all of those notes have to be belted....

@lynetti101 wow, she has a fantastic voice, and you're incredibly rude, im going to guess this wasn't YOUR song because its a belt mix and it's incredibly hard to reach that super high note, especially for an alto.She has an incredible voice and she did a fantastic job.

The thing is, you don't have to belt that "mooo" part of the word movin'...it can just be a blend of head and belt. right now the Moovin just sound really screechy and almost like she's straining and yelling. that's whats making me cringe everytime...:)
