Steve Laury and his band live at the University Of Redlands in 1995. Featuring Gary Nieves on drums Tommy Aros on percussion James Raymond on keyboards Cecil McBee Jr. on bass
I've listen to many guitarist in my 65 years most of them jazz stars Steve is the one I can listen to all the time. His whole approach is a fine mix. Great Stuff
He is a complete monster at playing single note style improv as well. There were many outstanding guitarists from my hometown that studied with Dennis Sandole but Steve was way ahead of the game early on. He is a real legend and influential to guitarists in the world. Just listen to that tone of his. All the many years of hard practice plus Steve is a natural.
easily one of the finest jazz guitarists around, and does not get the recognition he deserves...the only player i've ever heard in the same league with wes when it comes to playing octaves...effortless beauty!!!
Thank you for posting. I've been looking for a Steve Laury's video for a long time and couldn't find it. Best octave player ever. He destroys. I hope he goes on tour soon....
Repetitive, unoriginal, pedestrian composition style, childlike melody riffs, mediocre at best.

90's jazz at its best. i was blown away watching this because it's rare finding live stuff with Steve, especially before the cell phone video age...
