@neneorganico I agree with you wholeheartedly!!!!! "peak" is very subjective.

@neneorganico I agree most heartedly, everything is so subjective.

@ChristophePhilippe that is not correct, Tebaldi had considerably longer staying power than Callas and had a relatively long career, certainly longer than Callas's. Tebaldi may have peaked in the 50's, but she started her career early in the 1940s and sang well into the 1970s. She had some vocal problems, but for the most part still sang very well until she retired.

@ChristophePhilippe As you said at the begining of your post "I didn't know" , well "you don't know" so don't give innacurate sentences.
Tebaldi sang like a Goddes in the '50s and then in the '60s too and in her '70s concert work too

Interesting--I didn't know she was singing this role that early. I imagine that she's the only reason it got revived at that time and managed to stick around for roughly 20 years.
This is an interesting document. People talk about how short Callas's career was. But Tebaldi's peak was alarmingly short, esp in relation to how long she performed. I don't think it was much later than this that she started to have difficulty hitting the top notes head on.

la semplicità e il talento incarnato nella persona umana
Wow! Her voice is very beautiful, and the high notes are crystal clear and creamy.

She loved this role, and the music loved her back. A most moving interpretation, gloriously sung by this great artist.
