  • idk your guess is as good as mine lol :)

  • I remember seeing this movie with my grandmother when I was a kid, I also remember a real disaster similiar to this film.

  • Yeah, my mother saw this movie in theaters with my father. They used to be big disaster movie fans back in the 70's. By the way, what disaster would that be?

  • One american city on fire is not enough for better future...

  • 1:20 Castle Thunder for an explosion really?

  • @darkmastersoru Easy, Because the plot says so!

  • I'm proabably a minority on this but this film begs for a remake

  • @MsipmsonW

This is a chain reaction disaster a series of small accidents causing a greater disaster, once again I use the Texas City disaster as an example the initial explosion vaporized the Grandcamp but it also set fire to refineries and storage tanks in the port itself, which exploded as well and the debries from the ship and refineries rained down on the areas beyond the port, setting off fires and causing damage there as well

If a fire sets off enough explosive material the shockwave can be felt for miles from the epicenter, I brought up the fact that this film reminded me of the Texas City Disaster, in that event when the Grandcamp exploded the force of the explosion caused damage in Houston, Galvaston and the force of the blast was felt as far away as 100 miles from the epicenter, also in the 1917 Halifax Disaster the shockwave from the blast was felt as far away as 220 miles from the epicenter

  • worth seeing just to hear Ava Gardner drop an F bomb.

  • Anyone else get that burning sensation?

  • i am completely an utterly confused. WILL SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON IN THIS MOVIE???!!!

  • Some disaster movies just don't deliver the goods. This right here? This DELIVERS. Like UPS.
