  • I totally agree. Fireplaces are great for that reason. I like how you pointed out that the chimney acts as a ventilation system all in one. This definitely is a great way to cook in the winter. It's also fun while entertaining. Would love to see more similar cooking videos!

  • :D your dogs are soo cool!

  • old comedian Jerry Clower called them whop biscuits, said in his neighborhood when all the wives got up to cook breakfast around the neighborhood they would take out a can of the who biscuits and it sounded like a young war going off.great videos by the way.and also eco friendly.. using the heat for something besides just heating the home and cutting down your electric bill at the same time.

  • Outstanding ! Love it !

  • Wow, that made my hungry!!

  • Looks good. I inherited an old house that has two fireplaces that were set up for cooking. They have huge hearths for scraping out coals. Thanks for showing us this. Good lookin' labs.;-)

  • With cakes and pies, you might try using a dutch oven. You already have a cast iron one.

Look up the Good Eats episode. There are also books on this.

There will be more even heat because you have hot coals on top.

  • As often as the power goes out here in the winter, it would be a great to know how to cook with the fireplace. So far the only thing we've tried is marshmallows, and I don't think that really counts. Lol. Great vid.

  • Man ya sure have alot of snow comparing to Montreal Canada...With your grill and set up is a good idea but not to be used that often. It all depends what you cooking.
