ORIGINAL VERSION - A tribute to the dog teams served in all wars. These photos are from the Vietnam War, but is dedicated to the courage and sacrifice dog teams have made in all our wars. Dog teams in Vietnam are estimated to have saved over 10,000 lives. Many of the men and dogs in this video will Killed-In Action. We will always remember you!

As others here are stating, the poor dogs that served in Vietnam were left behind (while locked in their cages) when the American troops left Vietnam. All the dogs left behind most likely starved to death or were killed by the Vietnamese troops. They served their country with bravery and loyalty and were just left to die because the American government placed no value on their lives. I hope that today's military dogs are treated with more care and respect.

If I went into war with a dog, and I was as close too them like these men and the dog died.... I wouldn't know what I would do.

I hope you like the original music better. I know I do. It speaks more the times we lived in and the bitter sweet moment when we left to catch the Freedom Bird home, but had to also leave our dogs behind. All we have now are our photographs. Sorry that Warner Brothers and YouTube do not have an agreement that allows us to use the original version. Thank you Sony for the Remastered version.
