Janáček's music makes me proud of being Czech. Prague's been in the mist for a few days now, couldn't resist playing this piece.

masterpiece of XX century, as well as "On an overgrown path"...Janacek was a genius

@morvensky I think Mendelssohn's music is great but not top shelf like Janacek.

I just learned about Janacek by reading the first book from 1Q84, i was simply overwhelmed by his music when i first heard it. Why is this compositor so little known to the general public?

Thank you so much for sharing both interpretation and score!
In the "fugatus interruptus" the Presto reminds so much the last movement of the Hammerklavier sonata.

Thank you so much for this wonderful music. He creates his own soundscape, doesn't he, and takes you into his world of beauty and mystery. He influenced so many fine writers for piano, including the Australian, Roy Agnew. This is such an inspiration!

4:35 pianissimo??

I remember a live performance of this by Lupu... he was astonishing

This and Ives' 2.Piano Sonata are just the top of piano music.

I just finished reading about Janacek and had to check out his music. It is SO gorgeous. A much different alternative to the paths of Schoenberg and others
