For ages I've been looking for a version of this theme thats just the music / instrumental and not the bloody "I'm Ken Smith, I'm 28 & I'm a milk man from Derbyshire." etc etc halfway through.

  • Hi, I'm Anne Robinson, a witch from Lancashire.

  • I don't know why, but for some reason in the U.K version, there was nearly always a Data Systems Anaylst, a Computer Programmer, or someone who worked with computers in general!

What I loved about this show, is that even the intellegent contestants had to be also physically fit to compete in the obstacle course. Brains AND Brawn.

  • @eclectica1. What was your favourite round when watching?

  • Mondays 7pm, produced by Granada for the channel back then simply known as ITV. Essential viewing for the time. Something to look forward to after feeling miserable about being back at school :-)

I seem to remember that they had a lot of civil servants on the programme...

  • @AntoG1986 I liked the whole thing, but I want to highlight the Observation round, because as a kid back then, it was one of the few rounds that I could play along with a have a decent amount of success. And then there was the Intelligence round...what was basically a jigsaw puzzle became something that was very complex.

  • Every Winter, this was my favourite gameshow. It was just unlike anything else on British TV for so many years. Then, they (ITV) ruined it in 1995. Never realised how abysmal it was until I saw it on Youtube.

Anyway, a question for you: what is your favourite discipline?

Mine was always the assault course! Although the puzzle and flight simulations were always interesting to me as well.

  • Hi, I'm Alex Falarski, 19, a student in Hudsonville, Michigan.
