The family of the author of the book, has the rights tied up (so I have heard). It was on TCM a few times but the copyright came up and now it's frozen. The VHS copy is the only one available. This film is a King Vidor classic. The editing is WILD, it has fade ins and outs that are great! I love when the narrator in the beginning says "Rosa Moline" and the train whistle goes "TOOT TOOT" right after her name. IT's a CAMP classic and deserves a Criterion Collection edition!!!

I can´t find this movie, no torrent, no blog downloads and of course no dvd! It´s a shame!

I can't remember where I read it, but Bette Davis said this is one of her least favorite movies that she made.
