One of our many video tutorials.

How to access Internet Explorer using WordPad or NotePad. This little trick is mainly used if for some odd reason your Internet Explorer is not working.

  • This is simply the Windows help spawning the Microsoft IE browser object. You're still utilizing the Internet Explorer engine which is subject to all the settings you have set on your computer that IE must follow, so this will not bypass a proxy or group policies that are in place. It may also be disabled if IE is blocked through a policy as well. You can do this in your own programs rather easily as well by invoking the IE browser object. Just an FYI. Good tip. I wasn't aware of that, though.
