I am not a fan of advertising either - but we cannot forget that ads pay for the services we use. A site like YouTube is TERRIBLY expensive to run. Ads pay for it. Just look over the ads if you don't like them. But they pay for the services we like online.

True. That's how we get paid. But don't forget, with AdBlock Plus you can allow sites that you like, are legitimate and useful, and need the ad revenue. Block all others or just block certain ads on the other sites. There are many ads that are just plain inappropriate. Don't put up with it. Let the site administrators know you don't like 'em by blocking 'em.
