I'm French and I have nothing to say! ^^

@nickst0ne Thanks for understanding us ^^

what is said is a lie:
i can take Poland as an example: during 100 years (from 1815 to 1918), poland was divided betwen germany russia and austria-hungary, but the polish continued to speak polish and at the end they got their state, right
secondly, if it wasn't for the allies, it would be for the soviets cos they would never stop to germany, their goal was to spead socialism to the entire european continent.
this man doesn't have a clue of what he's talking about!

Saved Europe from who? Europeans. Last time I checked the Germans were European.

@pennsforest04 The truth is that every single French knows that Americans were braves to come up to Europe and delivers us from the barbarians. I'm a waiter and every time that i had to serve customers Americans veterans from WW2, it meant something special to me just as if i had to respect them just like if they were my grand parents. And at all time American people are very pleasant persons and will be for ever welcome in France .

Yes but the question is why did you wait 5 years ??? And don't forget : America wasn't alone to fight Germans the Russians for example were there too. And, we French people have suffer so much from that humiliating situation, we don't need anyone to teach us how we should have respond. There is no see or ocean between France and Germany. And I know that very well i'm from Verdun ....

@lakoweb beatiful sentence.
The sad thing is : all the anti-French movement started from the French opposition to the war in Iraq. Everybody in France knew that Bush wanted oil and that Saddam was keeping the region stable.
Bush claimed that Saddam was connected to Al Qaida. Intelligence proved it wrong.
Then Bush went after WMD. Hans Blix (from UN) proved him wrong.
Then Bush wanted to "free" Iraqis from Saddam's grasp and bypassed UN.
So after a propaganda campaign, the French were hated for... being reasonable.

no france would not speak german because we would be liberated by the soviet, but the allies (americans and brits) didn't want that because of their anti-comunism (the red fear).
so M. Luntz (propably from german ancestors, that's why he said that lol) don not know what he's talking about; and after all what is done, is done you can't rewrite History.
And in France, we are very greatfull toward american veterans of the battle of normandy.
