@TheMoviesandgames I don't think FOB has ever thought of themselves as a "real" punk band. They're pop-punk (or, they were on their first few releases), and they're not arguing with that.

Also, a lot of pop-punk bands today are far "punk-er" than Green Day. Transit, Such Gold, The Wonder Years, etc... They have kept the DIY mindset and honesty in music alive where "punk" acts like Green Day have completely forgotten it.

@EricdrinksOJ The genre of post-hardcore doesn't rely on when the music was produced. post-hardcore has been around since the early 90's if not arguably the late 80's when Fugazi first started. A band you cite as being "real hardcore," Death Before Dishonor, formed in 2000 (well after the hardcore scene's prime in the 80s). If you're into hardcore you also wouldn't throw around the N-word because the hardcore scene is big on acceptance and brotherhood. And Comeback Kid's sound is pure hardcore.
