I heard this hymn in Methodist Church in Poland. My Parson from time to time sung it at the end of service. I like this style of singing. Army is the best. Best Regards Geoff. I would like to manage interview on radio. I'd like to propagate SA in my country. Take care Brother....

This is a Hymn that is sung by all the churches. It was written by Joachim Neander 1650-80. Various translations have been made. I am not aware of any one church making a claim to its origins.
