Nick Buss singles during a February 26 meeting between the San Diego St. Aztecs and the Southern California Trojans. The 6-foot-1, 180 pound outfielder was named a 2007 Alaska Summer League All-Star after leading the circuit with a .369 average and stealing 29 bases with the Peninsula Oilers. Baseball America rated him as the #1 prospect in the Alaska Summer League. The junior hit .290 with six stolen bases in limited play during his 2007 sophomore season with the Trojans. Buss played his freshman season with Mesa Community College in San Diego and hails from De La Salle High School in Warren, Michigan. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 35th round of the 2006 First-Year Player Draft.
