The Keep Flying initiative aimed at ensuring South Africans retain their belief in themselves and the country post-World Cup has been endorsed by one of the biggest stars to come out of Africa, K'naan, in a music video available for free download.
Born in Mogadishu, Somalia, just as the civil unrest that rocked the country was beginning, the international star eventually ended up in Ontario where he began rapping before dropping out of school and performing around North America. He shot onto the world stage on 1999 when he used his platform at the United Nations' 50th anniversary concert, held in Geneva, to publicly criticise the UN's handling of the Somali crisis in the 1990s.
