@sherrysnake16 Someone said the gypsies are only called "Gypsys" = Egypsians" because the foreign lands thought we are egypsians because we came from there. But there also lived Jews. Someone said we are jewish refuges who escaped the babylonians who hated us. So we escaped far away to west-north India. And the traditions are the same as the jewish ones. They Say Goyim (to the others) and we say "Gayo/Guyjo". There are also living romas in Israel who are respected and accepted by the jews

Actually its because the mixed Gypsies tha live in North India right now have more of a Dravidian admixture. Back then the more pure Gypsies had Indo-Iranian stock as Punjabis, North Pakistanis etc
