This is a video of Claire doing her sword dance at the Edmonton Highland Dance Competition on October 27th, 2007. She needs to work on her turn out and keeping her fists into her waist and she will be away!
I agree, but I will also add, really try to hit 3rd or 5th position on the pdb. and don't turn too early in the 2nd step, instead of pointing in 2nd before the turn it appeared to be a point in 4th because the body was already turning. But great effort, keep up the hard work!
Wow, that looks really hard, I wouldn't be able to keep my hands on my hips either. BUt I have to say I can see big improvement from the last time I saw it. Keep it up, you look great!!

ok well im a highland dance teacher here is what you need to focus on,
when you do a back beat dont straten the supporting leg.(kep the front leg bent) and try to brush the back beat up and down on the supporting leg.
turnout.
half point.
and body positions in the last step, so when your doing corner beats and side beats turn your whole body to face the corner/ side.
